Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and edit CNC programs for 3-axis and multi-axis milling machines. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models to determine machining processes. Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters (speeds, feeds, depth of cut). Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure accuracy, collision avoidance, and optimal tool paths. Optimize existing CNC programs for efficiency, reduced cycle times, and improved part quality. Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot programming issues and implement solutions. Maintain and organize a library of CNC programs and related documentation. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM). Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T. Demonstrated ability to write, edit, and optimize G-code and M-code programs. Solid understanding of cutting tools, materials, feeds, and speeds for various machining operations. Experience with CNC mill setup, fixturing, and in-process inspection. Bonus Qualifications Experience with 5-axis programming or advanced CAM strategies (e.g., high-speed machining, probing cycles). Proficiency in fixture design or workholding optimization. Familiarity with post-processor editing and development. Experience with DNC systems or shop floor data collection.
