Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis milling machines using CAM software. Analyze engineering blueprints, CAD models, and specifications to determine optimal machining processes and tool paths. Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding devices, and establish cutting speeds and feed rates. Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect potential collisions, optimize cycle times, and ensure part accuracy. Troubleshoot and modify existing programs to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and resolve manufacturing issues. Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality control to ensure successful program implementation and part production. Document programming processes, setup sheets, and tooling lists for production use and future reference. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360). Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CNC mill programming. Knowledge of various tooling, fixturing, and machining processes. Bonus Qualifications Experience with 5-axis programming or advanced multi-axis machining strategies. Hands-on experience with CNC machine setup and operation. Knowledge of tooling selection, fixture design, and metrology principles. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Proficiency in multiple CAD/CAM software platforms.
