Generate efficient and safe tool paths using CAM software. Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials and operations. Design or collaborate on workholding fixtures and tooling strategies. Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, program errors, and process inefficiencies. Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Maintain accurate program files, setup sheets, and tooling documentation. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for generating toolpaths. Strong understanding and ability to write and edit G-code and M-code. Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications. Knowledge of cutting tools, workholding strategies, and material properties for various metals. Proven experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting 3-axis (and preferably multi-axis) CNC milling machines. Bonus Qualifications Experience with CNC simulation software (e.g., Vericut) for program verification. Hands-on experience with CNC machine operation, setup, and tooling selection. Proficiency in 5-axis programming or advanced machining strategies (e.g., high-speed machining, adaptive milling). Familiarity with post-processor editing or G-code macro programming.
