Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs (G-code and M-code) for lathe operations using CAD/CAM software. Select appropriate tooling, inserts, and workholding fixtures based on material, part geometry, and machining requirements. Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machine operators. Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure collision avoidance, optimize cycle times, and confirm part accuracy. Troubleshoot and debug existing CNC programs to resolve machining issues and improve efficiency. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability and adherence to design specifications. Maintain and update a library of CNC programs and related documentation. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming for CNC lathes. Demonstrated experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, Esprit) for generating toolpaths. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, feeds, and speeds for various materials. Experience with CNC lathe setup, operation, and program troubleshooting. Knowledge of metrology tools and quality inspection processes.
