Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for lathe machines using CAM software or manual G-code. Interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and CAD models to determine machining processes and tooling requirements. Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for various materials and part geometries. Perform tool path simulations and program prove-outs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and collision avoidance. Collaborate with machine operators and manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot issues and continuously improve machining processes. Maintain and update program documentation, tool lists, and setup sheets for production runs. Monitor machine performance, cycle times, and part quality, making adjustments to programs as needed. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit) for 2-axis and multi-axis lathe programming. Expertise in G-code and M-code programming for Fanuc or similar CNC controls. Ability to accurately interpret complex engineering blueprints and GD&T specifications. Strong knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, workholding, and machining strategies for diverse materials. Experience in optimizing CNC programs for efficiency, cycle time, and surface finish. Practical understanding of CNC lathe setup and operation for program validation and troubleshooting. Bonus Qualifications Experience with 5-axis or mill-turn lathe programming. Proficiency in CAD software for fixture design or part modification. Familiarity with Vericut or other G-code simulation software. Background in lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives. Knowledge of CMM operation or advanced metrology techniques.
