Key Responsibilities Develop and implement welding procedures (WPS) and qualification records (PQR) to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards. Oversee welding operations, troubleshooting issues and ensuring efficient production flow. Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for specific manufacturing applications. Conduct root cause analysis of welding defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and quality standards. Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize product designs for weldability and manufacturability. Monitor welding performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all welding activities. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in welding process development, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW, resistance welding) and their applications. Familiarity with welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO). Strong understanding of metallurgy, materials science, and their behavior during welding. Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation of results.
