Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficient management of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of all tooling, including tracking usage, repair status, and replacement needs. Schedule and supervise the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Implement and enforce safety procedures and best practices within the tool room environment. Manage and train tool room personnel, assigning tasks and providing guidance to ensure quality and productivity. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand tooling requirements and support new product development. Develop and manage the tool room budget, including procurement of new tooling and materials. Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the tool room. Recommended Qualifications Proven experience in tool room operations and management. Strong understanding of tooling, machining processes, and materials. Excellent leadership and team supervision skills. Proficiency in inventory management and control systems. Knowledge of preventative maintenance schedules for tooling. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues. Bonus Qualifications - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. - Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems. - Certification in tool and die making or a related trade. - Familiarity with preventative maintenance scheduling and execution for tooling. - Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) as it applies to tooling.
