Supplier Quality Engineer | Kalamazoo, MI Salary Range: $84,000 - $118,000 depending on experience Are you ready to take on a challenging and rewarding opportunity in {{role_field}}? The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Kalamazoo seeking Supplier Quality Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement supplier quality assurance programs and procedures. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Monitor and analyze supplier performance data, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement in their processes. Review and approve supplier quality documentation, including inspection reports and certificates of analysis. Manage supplier non-conformance reporting and disposition of non-conforming materials. Participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes, ensuring supplier readiness for new components and materials. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure consistent quality. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience in supplier quality management, including supplier audits, corrective action plans (CAPA), and supplier development. Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and relevant industry standards. Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis (RCA) techniques, and problem-solving methodologies. Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and reading technical drawings. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers. Bonus Qualifications - Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software and analysis. - Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and tools. - Certification in ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or equivalent. - Experience with root cause analysis methodologies like 8D or Fishbone. - Proficiency in CAD software for reviewing part drawings and designs.
