Key Responsibilities Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Train and mentor shipping and receiving team members on procedures and best practices. Manage inventory levels within the warehouse, conducting regular cycle counts and audits. Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, negotiating rates when applicable. Ensure all shipments are properly documented, labeled, and prepared for transit. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the shipping and receiving area. Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies or issues related to incoming or outgoing goods. Implement and enforce company policies and safety regulations within the department. Recommended Qualifications Proven experience in a shipping and receiving environment, preferably in manufacturing. Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. Proficiency in using shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, including training and motivating team members. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations. Bonus Qualifications - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. - Forklift certification and proven ability to operate various types of material handling equipment. - Familiarity with inventory management software and barcode scanning technology. - Basic understanding of customs regulations and international shipping documentation.
