PLC Programmer | Grand Rapids, MI Salary Range: $65,000 - $103,000 depending on experience Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for excelling in plc programmer? The Opportunity We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Grand Rapids region seeking PLC Programmers. Key Responsibilities Develop and program PLC logic for new and existing manufacturing equipment and processes. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and debug PLC programs and automated systems to resolve production issues. Perform FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup of automated machinery and control systems. Design and implement HMI interfaces and SCADA systems for operator control and data acquisition. Create and maintain detailed documentation for PLC programs, electrical schematics, and system configurations. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to define requirements and integrate solutions. Provide technical support and training to maintenance personnel on automated equipment. Ensure all programming and system designs comply with safety standards and industry best practices. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in programming industrial PLCs (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens) using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram. Strong understanding and hands-on experience with industrial control hardware, including HMIs, VFDs, servos, and sensors. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex automation system issues in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus TCP/IP. Experience with machine commissioning, startup, and optimization of automated production lines. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and functional design specifications. Bonus Qualifications Experience with HMI/SCADA development and configuration. Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, PROFINET). Familiarity with database integration for data logging or recipe management. Experience with industrial robot programming and integration.
