The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Newaygo seeking Packaging Engineers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions for new and existing products. Select appropriate packaging materials based on product protection, cost, and sustainability requirements. Conduct packaging performance testing and validation to ensure product integrity and compliance. Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, marketing, and supply chain teams on packaging initiatives. Identify and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvements in packaging processes and materials. Ensure all packaging designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues on the production line. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. 3-5+ years of experience in packaging development, design, or engineering within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD) and a strong understanding of various packaging materials. Demonstrated ability to optimize packaging processes for cost reduction, efficiency, and sustainability. Experience with packaging machinery, automation, and troubleshooting issues on the production line. Knowledge of packaging testing standards (e.g., ISTA, ASTM) and relevant industry regulations.
