Optimize existing packaging designs for cost reduction, performance, and sustainability. Conduct packaging material selection, testing, and validation to ensure product protection and integrity. Create and maintain detailed packaging specifications, drawings, and bills of material (BOMs). Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and supply chain teams on packaging projects. Troubleshoot packaging-related issues on production lines and implement corrective actions. Ensure all packaging designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines. Manage packaging supplier relationships and evaluate new materials or technologies. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field. 3-5+ years of experience in packaging design, development, and validation within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and a strong understanding of various packaging materials (plastics, corrugated, paperboard, glass, metal). Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes, packaging equipment, and supply chain dynamics. Proven ability to analyze packaging performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions for cost, quality, and sustainability improvements. Bonus Qualifications Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Experience with advanced CAD/CAE software for packaging design and simulation. Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and end-of-life considerations. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
