Lead and mentor a team of machinists, providing technical guidance and training. Perform quality inspections on finished parts to ensure adherence to specifications and tolerances. Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, machine malfunctions, and process inefficiencies. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and part designs. Set up and calibrate various machining tools and equipment for production runs. Ensure all machining operations comply with safety standards and company policies. Recommended Qualifications Extensive experience (7+ years) in precision CNC and manual machining. Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing machine shop. Expert proficiency in G-code programming, blueprint reading, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Strong ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues, optimize processes, and ensure quality control. Solid understanding of various metal properties, tooling selection, and machine maintenance. Bonus Qualifications Proficiency with advanced CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM). Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Basic CAD design skills for fixture creation or part modification. Proven ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience operating and programming CMMs or other advanced metrology equipment.
