Road Contruction Laborer

Constructs, repairs, and maintains roads, pavements, and transportation infrastructure. Key duties include repairing potholes, laying asphalt, digging trenches for utility cables, operating heavy machinery (cement mixers, rollers), painting road markings, setting up traffic controls, and providing winter maintenance like snow clearing Key Responsibilities: Construction & Repair: Paving and resurfacing roads, laying kerb slabs, repairing broken paving stones, and filling potholes. Utility & Structure Support: Digging trenches to install or repair gas, water, and electrical services; repairing drainage systems and building tunnels. Safety & Traffic Management: Setting up barriers, traffic lights, and road signs to ensure safety. Machinery Operation: Using tools such as pneumatic drills, tarmac sprayers, and rollers. Maintenance: Maintaining roadside verges (trimming hedges/grass), cleaning debris, and cleaning traffic signs. Requirements: - Must have pre-departure course certificate https://skillspass.org.mt/ - High school diploma or equivalent - Prior experience in road construction or a related field is preferred - Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects - Familiarity with hand and power tools - Basic knowledge of construction techniques and safety procedures - Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions - Good communication skills - Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
