Kitchen assistant

Humble Grape is a growing group of wine bars known for great wines, quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere. As our venues continue to expand, we are looking for a reliable and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team and support our chefs in delivering high standards across the kitchen. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. Working closely with the chefs and wider team, you will help ensure food hygiene standards are maintained and assist with basic kitchen tasks as required. The role will primarily be based at one of our city centre venues, though flexibility is required as you may occasionally be asked to support other venues within the group. Key Responsibilities Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety in line with company policies and regulations Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen , including washing up, cleaning surfaces, and equipment Assist chefs with basic food preparation and kitchen tasks when required Support the kitchen team during busy service periods Help ensure stock, storage, and waste areas remain clean and organised Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service About You A positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work well as part of a team Good attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards Reliable, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced environment Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is helpful but not essential What We Offer Part-time role (20 hours per week) with the potential for additional hours as business demands Opportunity to work within a growing hospitality group Supportive team environment Opportunities to gain experience and develop within the company If you enjoy working in a team environment and take pride in maintaining high standards in the kitchen, we would love to hear from you.
