Heavy Civil Controller

Key Responsibilities Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for construction projects. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with GAAP. Monitor project cash flow, job cost analysis, and variance reporting. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. Collaborate with project managers and executives to provide financial insights and recommendations. Supervise accounting staff and ensure timely processing of accounts payable, receivable, and payroll. Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and financial institutions. Support strategic planning and growth initiatives through financial modeling and analysis. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. Experience: Minimum 7 years in financial management, with at least 3 years preferably in construction, distribution or heavy civil industry. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Viewpoint, Sage 300 CRE) and ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Background Experience managing financial operations. Familiarity with DOT compliance and multi-state tax regulations. Candidates from reputable heavy civil or general contractors are highly regarded. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary range: $130K–$160K+ (commensurate with experience).
