Quantity Surveyor Location: Victoria Island, Lagos Industry: Building & Construction Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: 2 – 3 Years Salary Range: ₦160,000 – ₦200,000 Monthly Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable building and construction firm located in Victoria Island, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing estimates, monitoring budgets, and ensuring that construction projects are delivered within the approved financial framework. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and contractors. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and project budgets for construction projects. Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed building projects. Monitor project expenditures and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities. Evaluate and compare contractor bids and make recommendations for selection. Track variations, claims, and change orders during project execution. Measure and value completed work for interim and final payments. Perform regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure cost compliance. Provide financial reports and cost forecasts to management. Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers on cost-related matters. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and relevant construction regulations. Assist in procurement planning and material cost evaluation. Maintain proper documentation and records of project costs and financial reports. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelors Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 2 – 3 years relevant experience in quantity surveying within the building construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction cost management, contract administration, and procurement processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel. Familiarity with quantity surveying and cost estimation software is an added advantage. Good understanding of construction drawings and project specifications. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines. Membership or progress toward membership with professional bodies such as NIQS or QSRBN is an advantage. Benefits Competitive salary package within industry standards.
