Key Responsibilities Collaborate directly with clients to identify and evaluate patentable inventions in organic chemistry, molecular biology, and cellular biology Provide expert technical assistance to patent attorneys in preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO Conduct comprehensive patent searches, prior art analysis, and freedom-to-operate studies Support patent attorneys in intellectual property transactions, including due diligence and patent portfolio analysis Prepare detailed technical memoranda and patent office responses Assist in developing patent prosecution strategies for life sciences clients Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to legal teams and clients Required Qualifications PhD in Organic Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or Cellular Biology (Required) USPTO registration as a Patent Agent Prior experience working in intellectual property at a law firm Strong academic credentials with demonstrated excellence in life sciences research Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build client relationships Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment About New York City New York City is a global hub for innovation, biotechnology, and intellectual property law.
