You will be responsible for ensuring the premises are secure, well maintained and compliant with health and safety standards. Key Responsibilities • Opening and locking the school site each day • Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks • Ensuring classrooms, corridors and communal areas are safe and presentable • Monitoring heating, lighting, alarms and security systems • Supporting cleaning teams and liaising with external contractors • Maintaining outdoor areas including playgrounds and pathways • Assisting with school events, lettings and emergency call-outs • Ensuring health & safety and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times Experience & Qualifications • Previous caretaking, site or facilities experience desirable • Good practical skills across general maintenance and repairs • Understanding of health & safety procedures • Reliable, organised and able to work independently • Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider school team Salary Paid on the local authority support staff scale, dependent on experience.
