The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Mason seeking Buyers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions. Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery to support production schedules. Monitor supplier performance, addressing quality, delivery, and service issues proactively. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material specifications are met. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or supply. Maintain accurate purchasing records and master data within the ERP system. Recommended Qualifications 3-5+ years of direct purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing, inventory, and production planning. Proven negotiation skills and experience in supplier relationship management, including contract review and performance evaluation. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards for manufacturing components. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Bonus Qualifications Familiarity with manufacturing processes or engineering drawings. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Proficiency in advanced data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
