The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Charlotte seeking Buyers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors. Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials. Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize carrying costs. Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers. Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with production and engineering to ensure material specifications are met. Recommended Qualifications 3-5 years of direct purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and inventory management. Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and achieve cost efficiencies. Aptitude for understanding technical specifications, engineering drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs). Solid understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory control. Bonus Qualifications Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies. Proficiency with advanced features of major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor). Demonstrated experience in international sourcing and managing global supply chains. Project management experience focused on supplier integration or new product introduction.
