Key Responsibilities Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings. Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and quality requirements. Execute CMM inspection routines to measure and verify part conformance. Analyze CMM data, identify discrepancies, and generate detailed inspection reports. Troubleshoot CMM programs, measurement equipment, and fixture issues. Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment, probes, and accessories. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams on measurement strategies and problem-solving. Support first article inspection (FAI), in-process, and final inspection activities. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS). Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and GD&T. Knowledge of metrology principles, inspection techniques, and measurement tools. Experience operating CMMs and performing part inspections. Familiarity with CAD software for model import and feature extraction. Bonus Qualifications Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, portable arms). Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for model-based programming. Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and data analysis. Experience designing or recommending custom fixturing for CMM inspection.
