CMM Programmer | East Lansing, MI Salary Range: $57,000 - $89,000 depending on experience Are you a dedicated professional with a passion for precision measurement and ensuring dimensional accuracy? The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across East Lansing seeking CMM Programmers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings. Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and in-process quality checks using CMM. Analyze blueprints, GD&T specifications, and CAD data to define measurement strategies. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing CMM programs for accuracy and efficiency. Generate and interpret detailed inspection reports, communicating results to relevant teams. Select appropriate probes, fixtures, and measurement techniques for various parts. Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production departments on measurement requirements and issues. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS). Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and specifications. Experience with various measurement techniques, metrology principles, and inspection equipment. Demonstrated problem-solving skills for CMM program optimization and measurement discrepancies. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their influence on part dimensional quality. Bonus Qualifications Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model manipulation and fixture design. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and data analysis techniques. Experience operating or programming other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners). Ability to design or contribute to the design of inspection fixtures.
