The Opportunity We are partnering with organizations in Coopersville that are seeking Controls Engineers. Key Responsibilities Develop, program, and debug PLC and HMI applications for new and existing equipment. Design and implement control systems, electrical schematics, and panel layouts. Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for automation systems and electrical failures. Integrate and program industrial robots and other automated machinery. Optimize process control loops and machine performance for efficiency and quality. Manage automation projects from design through commissioning, ensuring scope and budget adherence. Implement and maintain industrial network communication protocols. Recommended Qualifications Expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens) and troubleshooting. Proficiency in HMI/SCADA system design and development. Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus). Experience with industrial robotics and/or servo motion control systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams. Proven experience in commissioning, startup, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment. Bonus Qualifications Experience with industrial robotics programming and integration (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB). Proficiency with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for inspection and guidance. Familiarity with database integration (SQL, Historian) for data collection and reporting. Experience with advanced functional safety system design and implementation.
