The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Lansing seeking Controllers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Manage all financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Oversee all cost accounting functions, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring performance against targets. Develop and maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP. Analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate information. Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support operational decisions and capital expenditure planning. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification highly preferred. 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment. Expertise in cost accounting principles (standard costing, variance analysis) and inventory management. Proficiency with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with financial reporting and analysis. Proven leadership and team management skills.
