The Opportunity We are partnering with organizations in Norton Shores that are seeking Automation Engineers. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes. Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial robots. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with automated equipment and control systems. Integrate new automation technologies with existing production lines and infrastructure. Optimize current automation systems for improved efficiency, reliability, and throughput. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all automation projects and systems. Participate in the commissioning and startup of new automated machinery and production cells. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA development. Experience with industrial robotics programming, integration, and troubleshooting (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB). Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP). Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex automated manufacturing systems. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a closely related field. Bonus Qualifications Experience with industrial robotics programming and integration (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB). Proficiency in industrial vision systems for quality control or process guidance (e.g., Cognex, Keyence). Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) integration and data historization. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles applied to Operational Technology (OT) environments. Experience with cloud-based Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms and data analytics for manufacturing.
