The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Newaygo seeking Quality Technicians who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products. Utilize precision measurement tools and equipment to ensure adherence to specifications. Document inspection results, non-conformances, and quality data accurately. Identify, isolate, and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating corrective actions. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes. Assist in the calibration and maintenance of quality control equipment. Participate in root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for quality defects. Recommended Qualifications High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in a technical field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance or inspection role. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Demonstrated ability to use precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators). Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and statistical process control (SPC). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Bonus Qualifications ASQ Certification (e.g., CQT, CQIA) Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab) for SPC charting and data interpretation. Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., Yellow Belt). Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
