Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and validate CMM inspection programs from 3D CAD models, blueprints, and specifications. Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using CMMs to verify part conformity. Analyze inspection data, interpret results, and generate detailed quality reports. Troubleshoot CMM program issues, probe errors, and machine malfunctions. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize measurement strategies and resolve quality discrepancies. Select appropriate probing systems, fixtures, and measurement techniques for diverse part geometries. Maintain CMM equipment calibration records and perform routine preventive maintenance. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS). Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Proven experience in CMM program development, validation, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of metrology best practices and measurement uncertainty. Bonus Qualifications Experience with other advanced metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, profilometers). Proficiency in CAD modeling or fixture design for measurement setups. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software and principles. Basic scripting or data analysis skills (e.g., Python, advanced Excel) for report automation or data visualization.
