Controls Engineer | Walker, MI Salary Range: $77,000 - $122,000 depending on experience Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for automation, PLC programming, and process control? The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in Walker seeking experienced Controls Engineers. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and program PLC, HMI, and robotic control systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical, automation, and software issues. Commission, test, and validate new automated equipment and control systems. Develop and maintain detailed electrical schematics, control narratives, and documentation. Implement continuous improvement initiatives for existing manufacturing processes. Ensure all control systems comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and troubleshooting. Experience with HMI/SCADA system design, development, and deployment. Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus). Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics and P&IDs. Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues in a manufacturing environment. Experience with robotics, motion control, or vision systems. Bonus Qualifications Experience with industrial data historians (e.g., OSIsoft PI) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI). Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) or SQL for data analysis and system integration. Familiarity with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex) or advanced robotics programming. Understanding of industrial network architecture, cybersecurity best practices, and IT/OT convergence.
