Tool Maker | Holt, MI Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience Are you a skilled professional with a passion for precision tooling and creating high-quality dies and molds? The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in Holt seeking experienced Tool Makers. Key Responsibilities Design, fabricate, and assemble precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges. Perform complex machining operations using manual and CNC equipment to achieve tight tolerances. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing production tooling and equipment. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD models to determine tool specifications. Conduct meticulous inspection of finished tools and components using precision measuring instruments. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes. Select appropriate materials and heat treatments for tools based on application requirements. Recommended Qualifications Completion of a recognized Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent journeyman experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and applying GD&T principles. Extensive experience with precision machining techniques, including milling, turning, grinding, and EDM, using both manual and CNC equipment. Demonstrated expertise in using a wide range of precision measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs. Strong knowledge of various tooling materials, heat treatment processes, and their applications. Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex tooling and dies. Bonus Qualifications Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for tool design and programming. Experience with advanced machining techniques (e.g., 5-axis milling, wire/sinker EDM programming). Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies. Prior experience in prototyping or R&D environments.
