REGISTERED NURSE - PEDIATRIC CARDIOVASCULAR OPERATING ROOM

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Registered Nurse - Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room RN - PEDS CVOR Full-Time Registered Nurse candidates for the Pediatric CVOR will have the following job responsibilities: You will evaluate patients prior to surgery You will provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process You will assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification You will participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy You will recognize and respond to patient emergencies You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives You will be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more You will consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients You will assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly You will educate patients and families/caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures JOB QUALIFICATIONS- Registered Nurse - Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room RN - PEDS CVOR Full-Time Registered Nurse candidates for the Pediatric CVOR must meet the following minimum job qualifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support required Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 days (RN) Registered Nurse Associate Degree; BSN required w/6 month enrollment and 24 month completion (Magnet Hospital) 1+ year of recent applicable experience in an acute care setting required - PEDS experience is required Must have experience with patients coming out of Heart Surgery NICU, Mother Baby, PICU experience is a plus
