About the Opportunity A leading engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Commissioning Agent to support complex projects within the mission critical sector, including high-performance data centers. This role is ideal for a commissioning professional who thrives in technically demanding environments where uptime, reliability, and system resiliency are paramount. Mission critical facilities , particularly data centers require precise coordination, rigorous validation processes, and deep technical expertise to ensure systems operate flawlessly under all conditions. The Commissioning Agent will play a key role in delivering operational excellence across these high-stakes environments. Position Overview The Commissioning Agent will lead and manage commissioning activities for large-scale commercial and mission critical facilities. This includes overseeing the performance verification of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, and control systems. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in building commissioning and/or building controls, with the ability to manage documentation, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities Lead commissioning activities from pre-design through project closeout Develop and execute commissioning plans, test scripts, and functional performance tests Validate installation, operation, and performance of: HVAC systems Plumbing systems Lighting controls Fire protection systems Building automation and controls systems Coordinate with design engineers, contractors, vendors, and owners Review submittals, shop drawings, and system documentation Maintain commissioning logs and detailed reporting documentation Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and best practices Support mission critical commissioning efforts with a focus on reliability, redundancy, and performance under load conditions Qualifications 8+ years of experience in building commissioning or building controls Strong understanding of commissioning processes and lifecycle documentation Experience commissioning HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire protection, and building automation systems Familiarity with industry standards and best practices related to commissioning Experience within mission critical environments, including data centers, strongly preferred Excellent communication, technical documentation, and coordination skills Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $125,000 – $175,000 (commensurate with experience) Comprehensive benefits package includes: Medical, Dental, and Life Insurance Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Healthcare & Dependent Care FSA 401(k) with Company Match Generous Paid Time Off 8 Paid Holidays $150 Monthly Parking Allotment Paid MetroPass Company Stock Ownership Possibility Why This Role Matters In the mission critical space particularly data centers downtime is not an option.
