The Producer / Master Control Operator (MCO) is responsible for overseeing live and recorded broadcast productions while ensuring seamless operation of master control systems. This role combines creative production oversight with technical broadcast execution to deliver high-quality programming that meets station standards and FCC regulations. Key Responsibilities: Production Duties: Produce live and pre-recorded programs, ensuring smooth execution from pre-production through post-production. Collaborate with on-air talent, directors, and technical staff to develop show rundowns and scripts. Coordinate graphics, video playback, audio elements, and live feeds. Manage timing, transitions, and commercial breaks during broadcasts. Edit video and audio content using industry-standard software. Ensure programming meets brand guidelines and quality standards. Master Control Operations: Monitor on-air signals to ensure uninterrupted broadcast. Operate automation systems, switchers, routers, and playback servers. Ingest, schedule, and verify programming and commercial content. Troubleshoot technical issues quickly to minimize on-air disruption. Maintain accurate logs and ensure compliance with FCC and station regulations. Coordinate satellite feeds and remote broadcasts as needed. Qualifications: Associates or Bachelors degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Media Production, or related field (preferred). 1–3 years of experience in broadcast production and/or master control operations. Familiarity with broadcast automation systems, video switchers, and audio boards. Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar). Strong understanding of FCC rules and broadcast standards. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
