Receiving Clerk

About the Role: The Receiving Clerk is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and processing incoming customer orders and materials within a metal finishing manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all incoming parts are accurately counted, visually inspected, documented, and entered into the companys system for production processing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced industrial setting. Responsibilities: Count incoming parts to verify that physical quantities match customer paperwork and work orders. Inspect parts for visible damage, sharp edges, or surface defects prior to processing. Follow standardized checklists to properly enter incoming orders into the production system. Accurately copy and record customer work instructions into internal documentation systems. Photograph incoming parts as part of quality and documentation procedures. Ensure all required information is documented correctly before releasing orders to production. Communicate discrepancies in quantity, condition, or documentation to supervisors or quality personnel. Maintain an organized receiving area and uphold safety standards. Support additional administrative or production-related tasks as directed. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate counts. Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation. Ability to read and follow written instructions and checklists. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple incoming orders. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment. Desired Qualifications: Experience in receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with production tracking systems or ERP software. Understanding of basic quality inspection processes.
