Behaviour Mentor | Westminster | Immediate Start Role: Behaviour Mentor / Learning Mentor (SEMH Support) Location: City of Westminster, Central London Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Experience dependent) Start Date: ASAP Are you a resilient and relatable individual with a passion for transforming the lives of young people? A vibrant secondary school in Westminster is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work specifically with students who require additional support to manage their emotions and conduct within the classroom. This is more than just a support role—it is an opportunity to be a consistent, positive influence in a young person’s life. The Role You will work closely with the SENCO and the Pastoral Lead to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. 1-to-1 Mentoring: Deliver bespoke mentoring sessions to students at risk of exclusion, helping them develop coping mechanisms and conflict-resolution skills. Classroom Integration: Support students within the classroom to stay on task, acting as a de-escalator during moments of crisis. Restorative Justice: Facilitate restorative conversations between students and staff to repair relationships and promote a positive school culture. Progress Tracking: Maintain detailed logs of student behavior and emotional wellbeing, contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs). The Candidate Experience: Backgrounds in Youth Work, Sports Coaching, Psychology, or Military/Police service are highly valued. Previous experience with SEMH or ASD is a plus. Resilience: The ability to remain calm, objective, and professional when faced with challenging behavior or verbal aggression. Communication: A natural ability to build rapport with "hard-to-reach" teenagers while maintaining professional boundaries.
