About the Role As the Year 5 Teacher, you will play an important role in guiding pupils through a key stage in their primary education. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and structured lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum while preparing pupils for the academic challenges of Year 6. Your responsibilities will include: Teaching the Year 5 curriculum across subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, and foundation subjects Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that promote curiosity and independent learning Monitoring and assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel supported Differentiating teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and strong study habits Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Key Stage 2 team Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil development Experience and Qualifications The successful candidate will: Hold QTS or PGCE in Primary Education Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2 , ideally Year 5 Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum Show excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be passionate about supporting pupil development and achievement Be committed to contributing to the wider life of the school Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are eager to develop their teaching practice within a supportive environment.
