Workshop & Spares Manager (Mechanization), Worcester, Western Cape Reporting To: Operations Manager: Mechanization The Workshop & Spares Manager is responsible for the strategic planning and operational execution of the workshop and parts department. This role ensures maximum manpower utilization, cost-effective maintenance of agricultural machinery (tractors, implements, and specialized equipment), and the seamless procurement of components to minimize downtime for clients. Requirements Education: National Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Management, or a Mechanical Engineering field (Agri-specific preferred). Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical workshop environment, specifically within the agricultural or heavy machinery industry. Leadership: Proven experience in people management and operational oversight. Technical Literacy: Strong understanding of agricultural equipment repair and parts inventory systems. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 1. Growth & Commercial Excellence Workshop Profitability: Driving the financial health of the workshop through efficient billing and cost-control measures. Parts Procurement: Sourcing and ordering high-quality spares and components for proactive maintenance and reactive repairs. Sales & Inquiry Management: Professionally handling technical inquiries, providing accurate quotes, and advising clients on product specifications and pricing. 2. Operational Optimization Maintenance Scheduling: Developing and overseeing rigorous service schedules for tractors and specialized agri-equipment. Inventory & Asset Management: Maintaining optimal stock levels (Just-In-Time) to prevent delays while managing working capital. Efficiency & Housekeeping: Continuous optimization of workshop workflows, loss control, and the maintenance of a clean, organized facility.
