Staff Applied Scientists

The Staff Applied Scientist is a senior technical expert responsible for applying advanced scientific, statistical, and machine learning techniques to solve complex business and technology challenges. This role focuses on designing scalable models, conducting advanced data analysis, and translating research into production-ready solutions that deliver measurable value. The Staff Applied Scientist collaborates closely with engineering, product management, analytics, and leadership teams to drive innovation and implement cutting-edge data-driven solutions. This is a fully remote position; however, applicants must currently reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning and statistical models Conduct research and experimentation to improve predictive accuracy and system performance Translate complex business challenges into scalable data science solutions Work with engineering teams to deploy models into production environments Analyze large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions for new initiatives Mentor data scientists and contribute to technical best practices Present research findings and technical insights to leadership and stakeholders Maintain documentation for models, algorithms, and data pipelines Stay current with emerging technologies and research in applied science, AI, and machine learning Required Qualifications Ph.D. or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field 7–10 years of experience in applied science, machine learning, or data science roles Strong programming experience in languages such as Python, R, or Java Expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data analysis Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote environment Preferred Qualifications Experience deploying machine learning models into production environments Experience with cloud-based platforms and scalable data pipelines Experience mentoring or leading data science teams Published research in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data science Experience working in technology, fintech, healthcare, or e-commerce industries Compensation Annual Salary Range: $170,000 – $220,000 USD , depending on experience, technical expertise, and leadership scope Performance-based bonuses and potential equity participation may be available Benefits Eligible employees may receive the following benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching Paid time off (PTO) including vacation, holidays, and sick leave Life insurance and disability coverage Flexible remote work environment Professional development and research opportunities Conference attendance and continued education support Employee wellness and assistance programs Potential equity or performance bonuses Work Authorization Requirement Applicants must meet the following requirements: Must currently reside in the United States Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Applications from individuals residing outside the U.S. will not be considered
