We are sharing a specialised remote opportunity for Meteorologists and Atmospheric Science experts to support the development of advanced AI systems used in weather modeling and atmospheric analysis. In this role, experts will analyze High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) weather model outputs and generate structured explanations describing observed atmospheric phenomena. These expert annotations help train large-scale AI systems that improve forecasting interpretation and atmospheric modeling. This opportunity is ideal for meteorologists with strong synoptic and mesoscale analysis skills who are comfortable interpreting numerical weather model data. Key Responsibilities Interpret HRRR weather model outputs at specific time steps Analyze model visualizations and identify key atmospheric features Diagnose phenomena such as troughs, jet streaks, fronts, instability zones, and convection Explain physical mechanisms driving weather patterns including vorticity advection, moisture transport, lift, and upper-level divergence Produce structured, technically accurate written explanations of model outputs Ensure all labels and explanations are grounded strictly in HRRR model data Ideal Profile Strong candidates may have: Degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science Alternatively, 2+ years of operational forecasting experience Strong understanding of atmospheric dynamics and thermodynamics Experience performing synoptic and mesoscale weather analysis Ability to interpret numerical weather prediction model outputs Clear technical writing skills for explaining meteorological reasoning Preferred qualifications may include: Experience working with HRRR or similar numerical weather prediction models Background in operational forecasting or atmospheric research Experience communicating complex weather phenomena clearly Why This Opportunity Contribute domain expertise to the development of AI-driven weather modeling systems Work on advanced projects combining atmospheric science and AI Flexible remote engagement with competitive hourly compensation Opportunity to apply meteorological expertise to cutting-edge AI research Contract Details Independent contractor role Fully remote with flexible scheduling Project-based engagement depending on research needs Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise Projects may be extended or adjusted depending on performance and demand About the Platform This opportunity is available through a leading AI-driven work platform.
