Grants & Funding Specialist (Project-Based)

As ROI Holding continues to expand its work through grant-funded and donor-supported projects, we are looking to collaborate with an experienced Grants & Funding Specialist on a project-based basis, to support initiatives aligned with our strategic focus areas. This role is not full-time employment. We are looking for someone we can collaborate with on specific funding opportunities and projects, depending on calls, timelines, and pipeline needs. What you’ll do • Research and identify relevant grant and funding opportunities, with a strong focus on EU programmes, international donors, foundations, and institutional calls that align with ROI Holding’s work and strategic direction • Lead the preparation and drafting of grant applications and concept notes, ensuring clarity, coherence, and full compliance with donor requirements • Support partnership building and coordination with consortium partners, donors, and institutional stakeholders when needed • Contribute to project planning once funding is secured, including timelines, roles, deliverables, and internal coordination • Support narrative and financial reporting in line with donor rules and internal standards • Track donor trends, policy developments, and funding priorities related to employment, skills, education, and innovation • Provide concise updates and recommendations to management on funding opportunities, risks, and next steps What we’re looking for • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in grant research, proposal writing, or institutional fundraising • Solid understanding of EU funding instruments and/or international donor programmes (strong advantage) • Strong writing skills in English, with the ability to translate ideas into structured, persuasive proposals • Good grasp of project logic, basic budgeting, and donor compliance • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and plug into a fast-moving team when needed • Comfortable working on a project or assignment basis rather than a fixed full-time role • A degree in Public Administration, Economics, International Relations, Management, or a related field is considered an advantage What we offer • Project-based collaboration with clear scopes and timelines • Exposure to multi-sector projects across education, employment, innovation, and workforce development • Flexible working arrangements • A practical, no-fluff working environment where ideas turn into action
