AU Accountant

About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to manage core finance operations and support local business functions in Colombo. This role oversees transaction processing, daily reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and payroll review, while supervising a Junior Accountant to ensure accuracy and timeliness across deliverables. The position reports to senior finance leadership and collaborates closely with offshore finance teams. Key Responsibilities Debtor & Invoice Management Ensure accurate and timely issuance of client invoices Reconcile daily collections and support debtor management Purchase & Expense Management Finalize purchasing transactions in the expense management system Maintain and update vendor records Schedule and process payments for purchase invoices and expenses Banking & Cash Flow Perform daily bank reconciliations Monitor cash flow and support weekly forecasting Act as administrator for local bank accounts Colombo Operations Support Review monthly payroll processing Prepare and review funding requests Assist in budgeting and expense planning Month-End & Reporting Prepare and post recurring journals Maintain prepayment schedules and post accruals Reconcile prepayment and accrual accounts monthly Team Leadership Supervise and mentor the Junior Accountant Ensure high-quality, timely finance deliverables Ideal Candidate Profile Strong experience in accounting operations and reconciliations Sound knowledge of month-end processes and cash flow management Experience supervising or mentoring junior finance staff High attention to detail with strong organizational skills If you're looking to step into a role that combines hands-on accounting, operational finance support, and team leadership , this is a strong opportunity to grow within a structured finance environment.
