Casualty Underwriting Manager

The Senior Casualty Underwriter will play a pivotal role in leading and developing the Casualty portfolio across General/Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, Workmens Compensation and Event Cancellation lines. This role carries significant technical authority and accountability for underwriting quality, profitability and regulatory compliance within the Saudi market. You will be responsible for assessing complex and high-value risks, structuring tailored coverage solutions, and ensuring disciplined pricing aligned with the companys risk appetite. Beyond technical underwriting, the role requires active portfolio management, engagement with brokers and reinsurers, and leadership of a team of underwriters to ensure consistent underwriting standards. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders. This role is for Saudi Nationals only. Responsibilities Underwriting & Risk Assessment Evaluate, structure and price complex Casualty risks within authority limits. Review and draft policy wordings and endorsements. Provide technical referrals and recommendations for large exposures. Portfolio Management Monitor profitability, growth and loss ratios. Implement corrective underwriting strategies where required. Manage risk accumulations and exposure limits. Broker & Client Engagement Build and maintain strategic broker relationships. Negotiate pricing and coverage terms. Support business development initiatives. Reinsurance & Facultative Placements Structure facultative placements for complex risks. Negotiate terms with reinsurers. Align placements with treaty protections. Regulatory & Governance Ensure compliance with IA regulations and internal guidelines. Maintain underwriting documentation standards. Support audit and governance processes. Leadership & Team Development Mentor and supervise underwriting staff. Conduct file reviews and technical oversight. Promote a disciplined underwriting culture. Qualifications & Education Bachelors degree in Insurance, Business Administration or related field. Minimum 10 years underwriting experience in Casualty lines. ACII or equivalent certification strongly preferred. Strong technical knowledge of rating structures and policy wording. Experience in facultative reinsurance negotiations. Solid understanding of Saudi regulatory requirements and IA guidelines.
