VP Finance Manager - Thailand

Head of Finance / VP Finance Startup / Scale-up | Thailand (Bangkok) Path to CFO The Opportunity This is a newly created leadership role to upgrade and professionalise the finance function as the business moves from execution mode into true scale-up. You will own financial truth , strengthen controls, and act as a trusted partner to the CEO and leadership team. The remit is hands-on, operational, and strategic. Over time, this role can evolve into a full CFO position . This is not a bank role, not a policy role, and not a passive reporting seat. Its for someone who enjoys building, fixing, and owning finance end-to-end. What Youll Own 1. Financial Ownership (Core Priority) Full ownership of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow Accurate, timely monthly close with hands-on review Payroll, commissions, revenue recognition, and controls Audit readiness, tax processes, and financial integrity 2. Team & Process Leadership Lead, develop, and upgrade the finance & accounting team Establish clear SOPs, accountability, and closing discipline Raise standards without breaking the culture 3. FP&A & CEO Partnership Budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning Track performance vs plan and propose actions to close gaps Board and investor reporting Act as a thought partner to the CEO and leadership team 4. Legal, Compliance & Governance Own finance-related legal coordination Manage external auditors, tax advisors, and lawyers Strengthen governance, contracts, and approval flows Oversee Thai regulatory compliance and basic Singapore statutory coordination 5. BOI & Regulatory Compliance Ensure ongoing compliance with BOI requirements Monitor salary structures and approved positions Coordinate BOI reporting, audits, and inspections Proactively flag and manage regulatory risk 6. Strategic & Operational Improvements Support complex initiatives (financing, investment-adjacent work) Build financial models, guardrails, and risk frameworks Improve tooling, reporting quality, and scalability What Success Looks Like (12 Months) Clean, trusted, on-time financials No recurring accounting issues A strong, accountable finance team Leadership and investors trust finance as an enabler, not a blocker Profile 8+ years in finance / accounting Experience leading finance or accounting teams Strong hands-on operator, not purely strategic Startup or scale-up background strongly preferred High ownership, strong judgment, detail-driven Fluent in English and Thai Comfortable working with international (ang mo) founders while navigating Thai business culture Compensation Competitive fixed salary (above market for Thailand) Benefits and health insurance Equity participation possible for the right person Scope to consider interim / contract profiles if senior and available If you want, next I can: Pressure-test this against real BKK candidate availability Map Thai vs expat profiles and where salary premiums really land Help you frame fees, interim structures, or success-based options Or write a one-pager founder pitch to attract the right calibre without overselling
