Blockman Western Cape Market-Related Salary Permanent Position SASSO Consulting is recruiting experienced Blockmen for multiple retail butchery positions across the Western Cape. We are looking for skilled, reliable, and production-driven individuals with solid retail butchery experience. Key Responsibilities Break down whole carcasses into primal and retail cuts Portion and prepare meat according to company specifications Ensure high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety Minimise waste and control shrinkage Maintain clean and organised cutting areas Assist with stock rotation and storage Support butchery production targets and daily output Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable) Proven experience as a Blockman in a retail butchery environment Strong knowledge of meat cuts and carcass breakdown Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physically fit and able to handle heavy carcasses Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards Reliable transport Clear criminal record Advantageous Experience in a high-volume retail supermarket butchery Experience working with production targets Supervisory exposure
