Property Accountant

Property Accountant Location: Fall River, MA Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite (5 days per week) Industry: Real Estate Development & Property Management About the Opportunity A well-established and growing real estate development and property management organization in Southeastern Massachusetts is seeking a Property Accountant to join its accounting team. The company manages a diverse portfolio of retail, commercial, residential, and hospitality properties and offers a stable, team-oriented environment with strong long-term growth potential. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting for approximately 10 mixed-use retail and office properties Perform month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and review financial statements Ensure timely and accurate payment of mortgages, property taxes, insurance, and utilities Prepare CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and billings Process water billings and percentage rent calculations Support additional accounting initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1–3 years of accounting experience required (property accounting experience preferred) Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger fundamentals (accruals, prepaids, reconciliations) Experience with M3, Sage, or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office High attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
