Technical Services Manager – Underground Gold We’re recruiting an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead all technical functions at an underground gold mining operation. This senior leadership role oversees mine engineering, geology, survey, geotechnical, ventilation, and paste/backfill teams, ensuring safe, compliant, and optimised mining performance. Role Overview You will provide strategic direction across mine design, planning, technical governance, and operational support. Working closely with site leadership, you’ll ensure alignment with production targets, safety requirements, and long‑term business objectives. This is a high‑influence position suited to a seasoned underground mining professional with strong technical capability and proven leadership experience. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all Technical Services disciplines on site Oversee short‑, medium‑, and long‑term mine planning and scheduling Provide technical governance for mine design, sequencing, and backfill performance Ensure compliance with WorkSafe NZ mining regulations and safety frameworks Manage principal hazard management systems and statutory mine plans Lead incident investigations, audits, and risk management processes Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary technical team Support feasibility studies, mine expansions, and capital projects Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term planning Skills & Experience Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field Extensive underground hard‑rock mining experience Strong leadership capability across technical teams Proven experience in mine planning, design, and technical governance Solid understanding of regulatory and safety requirements Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Legal right to work in New Zealand Why Join Senior leadership role with significant influence Competitive executive‑level salary package Opportunity to shape mine performance and long‑term strategy West Coast lifestyle benefits
