Lead PCS Design Engineer

Job Description Our client is expanding their RTL organization and is looking for an experienced Lead PCS Design Engineer with strong expertise in PCS and FEC within advanced RISC V based SoC designs. In this role, you will lead the development and integration of Physical Coding Sublayer solutions, ensuring robust implementation of PCS and FEC algorithms at RTL level. You will drive architectural and design decisions while coordinating with cross functional teams to deliver high performance interface subsystems at advanced technology nodes. Location : Barcelona, Spain - Hybrid Responsibilities: As a Lead PCS Design Engineer , your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Lead the design and RTL implementation of PCS and FEC algorithms Define architectural direction for PCS blocks within RISC V based SoC designs Ensure correct timing implementation and constraint definition across interface subsystems Drive integration of Ethernet SERDES PHY and controller components Collaborate with architecture, verification and physical design teams to ensure design quality and alignment Develop and maintain scripts to support design automation and integration flows Guide and mentor RTL engineers working on PCS related modules Conduct design reviews and drive technical decision making across the team Ensure delivery of high quality RTL aligned with project milestones Requirements: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field English level C1 or higher Proven experience leading technical teams in RTL or interface design environments Strong experience in Verilog Solid understanding of timing and timing constraint definition Hands on experience implementing PCS and FEC algorithms Experience with Ethernet SERDES PHY and controller integration Experience with scripting for automation and design support Strong architectural mindset with ability to translate system requirements into RTL solutions Excellent communication and leadership skills What’s in it for you?
