Teaching Assistant – Stratford

We are seeking an enthusiastic, supportive, and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stratford, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils’ learning and development across the primary age range. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils during lessons, help manage classroom routines, and provide targeted support to individuals or small groups. You may work across different year groups, supporting pupils with a range of learning needs. Key Responsibilities Support pupils’ learning within the classroom under teacher direction Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum activities Help promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning Support pupils with social development and confidence Assist with playground duties, transitions, and school activities Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and engagement Follow school policies on safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have experience working with children in a school or similar setting Be enthusiastic, patient, and approachable Have a strong interest in supporting children’s learning and development Be able to work effectively as part of a team Have good communication and interpersonal skills Be adaptable and proactive in supporting classroom needs Be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children in an educational setting is desirable, but the school also welcomes candidates with transferable experience and a strong willingness to learn.
