We are looking for a skilled and motivated HIL Developer to join a team working on next-generation vehicle platforms within a highly innovative software-driven automotive environment. You will be part of the development of a centralised compute architecture – a “computer-in-the-car” platform enabling advanced capabilities in Vehicle Motion Control, Active Safety, Autonomous Driving, Machine Learning, and Advanced Connectivity. This role focuses on enabling and developing Hardware In The Loop (HIL) environments that are critical for verifying platform software and vehicle functions before final product release. About the Team & Environment The HIL environments are built around a modern centralised vehicle compute architecture. These setups combine real hardware components with advanced vehicle simulators to emulate full vehicle dynamics. You will work in a small, cross-functional team with a high focus on quality, automation, and continuous improvement. The environment is fast-paced, innovative, and technically challenging. Key Responsibilities Develop, configure, and maintain Hardware In The Loop (HIL) test environments Work with dSPACE HIL rigs and associated development tools Support software deployment and application testing on core vehicle computer platforms Perform modelling and development using MATLAB and Simulink Enable and improve test automation processes Contribute to Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices Collaborate closely with software teams, system engineers, and suppliers Support verification of platform, software, and vehicle functions Mandatory Requirements M.Sc or a B.Sc within Electronics, Physics, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or similar. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with dSPACE HIL rigs Minimum 2 years of experience with dSPACE tools (ControlDesk, ConfigurationDesk, ModelDesk, Bus Manager, Aurelion, etc.) Minimum 2 years of experience with Matlab / Simulink development Fluent in English with strong communication skills Meritorious Experience Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) Programming skills in Matlab and Python Experience in Simulink model development Familiarity with Agile methodologies Knowledge in vehicle/traffic simulation Experience with sensing technologies (radar, camera, lidar, ultrasonic) Experience in perception system development Experience in development within areas such as: Vehicle Dynamics Hybrid/Electric Vehicles Active Safety Connected Vehicles Autonomous Drive Vehicle Motion Control Protective Safety Systems
