An outstanding sixth form in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join its leadership team from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to lead SEND provision within a high-achieving post-16 environment where academic excellence and student wellbeing are central to the school’s ethos. The sixth form is committed to ensuring that all students, including those with additional needs, are fully supported to achieve their academic and personal potential. The Role Leading and managing SEND provision across the sixth form Overseeing EHCPs, support plans, and statutory compliance Coordinating targeted interventions and monitoring student progress Line managing and supporting learning support staff Working closely with teaching staff to promote inclusive classroom practice Liaising with parents, external agencies, and local authorities The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) The National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it) Experience supporting students with SEND at secondary or post-16 level Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice Excellent organisational and communication skills A proactive, compassionate, and strategic approach School Information This outstanding sixth form in Birmingham is known for its exceptional academic outcomes, mature student culture, and strong leadership.
